Part One of a Very Entertaining Series

This is the first part - subtitled 'Promise of Heaven, Promise of Hell' - of what is already an
'erotic flagellation' trilogy and which promises to run and run. I recommend reading it before its sequels: 'Shadows of Perdition' and 'Lost Soul'. The
erotic genre as a whole tends to favour 'short story' treatments, the
erotic possibilities of their scenarios being quickly worked through, but the 'Alice' books are a noteworthy exception. In these books their strangely pseudonymous author has hit upon an explosively
erotic mix of characters: a mature female orphan, her wicked uncle, her libidinous girlfriend with a passion for being chastised, and her girlfriend's father who's involved in the sex industry. The stories relate the history of Alice, first introduced to us in her middle-age, and her transition from
innocence to enthusiasm for
erotic activity, particularly those parts of this activity that involve traditional methods of castigation.
In this first volume, we learn of Alice's loss of her parents in an accident, and her consequent removal from an expensive school by her uncle. Both the school and her uncle are firm believers in the improving power of
physical correction, and her uncle's motives are quickly called into question, although the scope of this volume does not allow their detailed examination. Her girlfriend Kate initiates her (at first unwilling) into flagellatory (and other) delights, and takes her to spend the summer with her and her parents, who are also
disciplinarians.
The book is sensitively written, standing well on its own, and it maintains tension well as the plot slowly unfolds with its considerable variety of intrigues and uncertainties. The characters are well enough defined and developed for
erotic momentum to be maintained between the 'hot' episodes that are the reason for people to buy this type of book.

Alice's Biography?

'Alice' purports to be the biography of
Alice Hussey, who is orphaned while still at
school and placed in the care of her uncle. He is determined to instil moral values and
discipline into her which involves thrashing her on a regular basis - and the more she defies him the worse the
punishments become. 'Alice' presents a battle between those who
punish for twisted moral reasons, and those who practice
loving chastisement - a battle whose outcome will doubtless be resolved in the inevitable sequel.

This is a really earthy yet
erotic story of
temptation and
seduction. Alice is a lovely
innocent character and the chemistry between her and her
evil uncle Richard is gripping. I look forward to the promised sequel. A must read.
